Thank-you for a great start to the year!

Thank-you so much for helping the first few days of school to run smoothly! It has been wonderful beginning to get to know the students in our class, and I am anticipating a fantastic grade 5 year! Just a reminder that there once again will be no agendas this year, and that this blog will be key in understanding what is happening in our classroom and for reminders about important dates. Once again, important dates can be found on the left hand side of the blog, by clicking the three small lines.
Here are some upcoming dates to be aware of:
Meet the Teacher Night: Thursday, September 12 6:30-7:30 pm
PD Day (No School): Friday, September 20
Picture Day: Monday, September 23
Booster Juice: Wednesday, September 25
Muffin Breakfast and Terry Fox Run: Friday, September 27
So far, we have spent time this year discussing the rules and routines of our classroom, sharing about ourselves and getting to know one another, and beginning some introductory work in math, language arts, art, and French. Students enjoyed listening to Naked Mole Rats Gets Dressed by Mo Willems as well as the first few chapters of 39 Clues: The Maze of Bones by Rick Riordan. Today we also had an opportunity to have our learning commons orientation and to sign out books, as well as to sign up for Prodigy accounts to support our learning in math.
Thank-you for your support thus far! I am looking forward to working with you more over the rest of the school year!
