Tuesday, October 15
I hope everyone had a safe and fun long weekend! We had some sharing time in Circle today, and it sounds like students got up to a lot of great and varied family activities! In Math, we continued our work on estimating sums, exploring the strategies of front-end rounding and compatible numbers and then working on some practice problems. In French we continued practicing our numbers to 100. We read more of our class novel, and discovered that Mr. Terupt is in a coma! After lunch, we spent time reading with our grade 2 buddies, and then continued our exploration of strong verbs with Ms. Williamson's class, reading Water Dance and adding a number of words to our list.
After break, we finished up with some work in Art creating nighttime Northern Canada scenes that feature aurora borealis using oil pastels. We will continue these pieces later this week.
