Tuesday, October 8

Today we wrapped up our work around rounding in Math before we move into the related concepts of estimating sums and differences. If students have not yet completed the rounding practice sheet, this is now homework for tomorrow, October 9. Students can complete the shopping rounding challenge as well on their own time if they would like, however this extension assignment does not have to be completed.

In French we continued working with numbers, particularly practicing saying numbers from 1-100. We're preparing to learn a fun new number game called Zoot, hopefully tomorrow. Students are encouraged to continue practicing their numbers to 100 at home. Our French number booklet is also now UFW, and will have a due date in the near future.

In Science we explored concepts related to food chains/food webs, including producers, consumers (herbivores, carnivores, omnivores), and decomposers. This website gave clear explanations, examples, and illustrations of these concepts, and also had some fun games to play in order to reinforce this work.

In Health we continued our focus on mental health by exploring worry/anxiety and giving the students an opportunity to visually represent one or two of their own worries.
