Tuesday, March 3

We began the day with division word problems in Math. Then, in French, we reviewed farm and wild animal vocabulary and began exploring adjectives we can use to describe animals. We spent some time discussing masculine versus feminine words, and how that can potentially change the adjectives we use. We will continue working with this concept in coming French classes. In Language Arts we worked in small groups to write paragraphs about food, ensuring each paragraph included a topic sentence, 3-4 supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence. Students will share their paragraphs next class.

Our afternoon began with quiet reading/unfinished work, as usual. Then some students went to help Ms. Drummond's grade two class. The rest of us had time in Science to practice drawing circuit diagrams using the standard symbols and to finish up our electrical safety sheets. We finished up the day working on Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Lowlands region jot notes for Social Studies.

A reminder that students are asked to find and bring in an example of a paragraph that includes a topic sentence and supporting details for tomorrow. This could be in a physical book, or it could be printed off of an online piece. Thank-you for supporting your child in this task!
